"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." These words from the Tenth Amendment are among the most important in our entire constitutional framework.

The Tenth Amendment is a declaration of principle: the federal government has only those powers specifically given to it. Everything else belongs to you, your community, and your state.

This is not a technicality — it is the very foundation of limited government. When we allow the federal government to exceed its enumerated powers, we erode the liberty that the Founders fought to establish.

Here in Arkansas, we understand the value of local governance. Our communities know their own needs better than any bureaucrat in Washington. The Tenth Amendment protects our right to govern ourselves.
